We're working on our first real game!!!!

Up until now everything we've shipped has been a game jam entry. Only a weekend to build something small and get it out the door. Those have been a great way to learn, and we're proud of what came out of them. But we've always wanted to do something a big bigger in scale.

Back in August we submitted Forgotten Paths to the GMTK 2025 Game Jam. One of the biggest game jams ever held, with over 9,500 submissions. It's a looping movement puzzle game where you don't control your character directly. Instead you build a sequence of commands that the character executes on repeat, and the puzzle is figuring out the right loop. We were really happy with how it came together in the time we had, and the people who played it seemed to agree. It ranked in the top 6% overall which felt incredible at that scale.

The feedback we got was genuinely encouraging. People liked the core mechanic and had ideas about where it could go. We had a lot of ideas too. So after sitting on it for a while, we decided to take it further and turn Forgotten Paths into a full release.

We're starting completely from scratch. The jam version did its job, but it was 96 hours of shortcuts and spaghetti code that was never meant to be built on top of. The new version keeps the same core concept but rebuilds everything properly so we can actually add all the things we want to add: more puzzle mechanics, more enemy types, a real level editor, a full campaign, etc...

This is just the announcement. If you want to play the original jam version while we work on this, you can find it on itch.io.
